NateoftheLivingDead . @NateoftheLivingDead 2 hrs ago One of the first tests for me in any animated DC project is if the voice work feels right for the character and to my surprise they all worked well. I may have a Kevin Conroy bias, as I still hear his voice definitively whenever I read the comics, but Anson Mount works really well here. I’ve also never been one to really love Bane’s voice in the Nolan trilogy, so Michael Mando does a great job as well. The story itself feels a bit rushed for being a 3 part series. I think adding another half hour to part one to give Bane a bit more screen time in Gotham, and the audience a bit more visual backstory on why Batman is so broken rather than relying on Bruce Wayne’s psychiatrist as a crutch. Bane does get his origin story here from the comics a la Vengeance of Bane, so kudos to that. I do love the animation style here. It doesn’t feel copy/paste like alot of the other DC animated films as of late. Batman’s suit is awesome in this with these stylized shoulderpads. See more A. This is the villain, Bane fighting a battle exhausted Batman. When Batman can prepare he can beat almost anybody. Here he is tired and injured before they fight. This film introduces Arazel. He is a vigilante similar to Batman who is mentally disturbed. Here, I wish they had gone more with the comic book version of Arazel. Hopefully part 2 explains his backstory a bit. We get banes actual origin finally brought to the screen while truthfully adapting the character from the comics and reimagining also one of the best Batman comic runs to a new audience.
