In this dazzling sequel to the 1995 blockbuster, Andy heads off to summer camp, leaving the toys behind to fend for themselves. In much the same way Buzz discovered he is a mass-produced product in the first installment, Woody discovers that he is a valuable collectible spawned by a popular 1950s kiddie-puppet TV show, "Woody's Roundup Gang," when he is kidnapped by an evil toy collector, Al McWhiggin. Through Al, who plans to sell him to a Japanese toy museum, Woody is reunited with the toy versions of his TV cohorts--plucky cowgirl Jessie (Cusack), prospector Stinky Pete (Grammer), and trusty horse Bullseye. Woody must choose between seeing Andy grow up and forsake him and living a sterile but eternal life behind glass being admired--but not played with. Meanwhile, the rest of the original toy troupe undergoes a thrilling crosstown adventure to locate their kidnapped friend and restore him his rightful owner. Extremely entertaining, surprisingly touching, endlessly thrilling eye candy for anyone of any age. Golden Globe Winner: Best Motion Picture--Musical or Comedy. Includes outtakes and bonus short, "Luxo Jr.," plus a sneak preview of Disney/Pixar's MONSTERS INC. [More]

Reviews
Pixar's improved computer animation is up to all the demands of this excellent adventure.
The movie's clearly articulated theme is whether life should be lived for the future or in the present, something both adults and children may find provocative.
The list of highlights is endless. Kids will love it; adults may react more deeply. Just wonderful.
With very rare exceptions - sequels are not nearly as good as the original. However, leave it to the folks at Pixar to manufacture the quintessential exception to this rule.
...one of the few sequels in the history of cinema that is an unqualified improvement over its predecessor in every way.
Definitely outdoes the first film. It's the Godfather II of computer animated films.
A hands-down masterpiece and the best film of the year, so far. Brave the holiday movie-going crowds and give yourself and the family a real treat.
One of the most entertaining and exciting animated features ever made, one of those rare sequels that bests its predecessor.
Pixar's gold standard for storytelling sophistication not only their best all-around film, but one of the best films ever made, period.
Watching Toy Story 2 is like opening a box from the attic and finding your favorite childhood toys inside.
...one of the funniest, exciting, and genuinely moving stories ever committed to film.
Seldom has there been such a brilliant sequel to such a brilliant predecessor.
A full measure of Toy Story 2's success can be gauged by its undeniable appeal for children who have never seen a Western television show or played with a cowboy toy.
