![]() on Jun 05 2006 06:42 AM Jake and Heath best kiss? Was there not a good girl on girl kiss? Got Breakout Performance dead right. Isla Fisher rocked. Paris Hilton should've won Best Frightened Performance, but whatever... (Reply to this) |
![]() on Jun 05 2006 10:12 AM Great to hear they found an excuse to give an award to Jim Carrey, he understands the show is a joke and always brings the funny. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 05 2006 10:17 AM jake and heath kiss was fine. they ready had the whole girl on girl kiss with selma hayek and sarah michelle gellar for cruel intentions years ago so it was time to give honors to the other side. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 05 2006 11:20 AM blair selma blair and gellar.- not salma hayek. if that was salma hayek that kiss would have been a much bigger deal because salma hayek is one of the most gorgeous women in entertainment (Reply to this) |

on Jun 06 2006 09:41 AM Wow...I actually agree with some of the awards - Carell, Bale. Scary. "Golden Bucket" - I wonder if that will ever be visible within Spike's house. Alba can't act sexy to save her life. The best villain award to Scrub Darth is the biggest joke of the awards by far. (Reply to this) |

on Jun 06 2006 10:30 AM Awesome for Brokeback! For once there are actually some good winners! The MTV Awards are usually a big joke, but I was going to watch this year just for Brokeback's noms. To my surprise it actually won in both categories it was nominated in. I can't believe that the MTV Movie Awards are giving awards to actual great films for once, at least this one anyway. Obviously Wedding Crashers isn't the best film of the year or even close, but it was really enjoyable and I don't mind it winning considering this is the MTV Movie Awards and all, and they usually only give them to popcorn movies anyway. Anyway, Brokeback Mountain couldn't deserve Best Kiss more. It was a great movie kiss and it's nice to see a serious same-sex kiss (and a guy-on-guy one no less) actually win, as usually it has to be something funny (like in Dude, Where's My Car? for example), or a girl-on-girl kiss for one to win. Jake Gyllenhaal is also deserving of his award, though too bad Heath wouldn't have gotten a Best Actor nomination as he gives one of the best performances of all-time in it and he's easily the best in the movie. It's a performance that really stays with you. Oh well though, I'm more than pleased that it won the two categories it was nominated in. I'm also happy for Isla Fisher, who was hilarious in Wedding Crashers. Steve Carell deserves his too. Overall this year the winners are pretty solid, except for the overrated Jessica Alba winning Sexiest Performance, but that's no surprise. I'm also happy to see Anna Faris is one of the presenters. I love her! (Reply to this) |

on Jun 07 2006 09:48 AM "the fifteenth annual ceremony celebrated everything the movies have to offer" Wow. Just wow. MTV manages to get stupider and stupider each year. And Hayden Christiansen for best villian? That is one of the worst calls they have ever managed to make. Wedding Crashers was very entertaining, but by no means best picture. Pitt and Jolie for best fight? The fights in that movie were luke-warm at best. And what a coincidence, the host won the 'sexiest' award! And let me guess, she accepted it like it was a suprise or something. (Reply to this) |
![]() on Jun 09 2006 03:45 PM I don't think the winners are that bad. Wedding Crashers wasn't the best movie of the year or the nominees but it was still fun and MTV doesn't exactly pick the masterpieces of the year anyway. Great calls on Christensen for Villain, Gyllenhaal for Performance, and Fisher for Breakthrough. I'll watch the awards when they air in New Zealand as they're usually a blast. (Reply to this) |
