A stunning, sprawling, naturalistic, extremely improbable success. Go to Full Review

The series is unapologetically weird, full of strange sex and wild obsessions, hot and muggy and foreboding. Go to Full Review

Across several generations, a dynamic cast effortlessly navigates the story's unusual tone with a much-needed naturalism. Let's hope Netflix manages to stick the landing when they wrap this epic up in season two. Go to Full Review

This vivid version of Gabriel García Márquez’s multigenerational epic is respectful of the source material while treading a whole new and splendidly riotous path Go to Full Review

Yes, the writer’s magic realism is tricky to translate. But "Solitude", made in García Márquez’s native Colombia by South American filmmakers, finds simple, stunning ways to bring the first half of the book to the screen. It’s close to perfect. Go to Full Review

Edward L @Glyndower Apr 3 Almost as boring as the greatly overrated novel. Beautiful and true to the style of the novel See more Michel V @RT44160539 Jun 26 It looked great and was quite doable for a while and could have been great, but there was just too much nonsense and stupidity in this story that made it worth while watching. Childish. I could't get immersed into the story so all the probably fun things that happened in the movie ... were like meh. See more anastasia c @RT17189772 May 17 best show ever! Claudio’s acting was marvelous See more ZIYUE T @RT41494399 03/08/2025 One Hundred Years of Solitude is a book I casually flip through when I have free time, but this show is worth watching whether you’ve read the original novel or not. Especially the actress playing Úrsula—she perfectly embodies the image of Mother Earth as I imagined. See more Read all reviews
