Season 2 often misses some of that charm and emotional punch that made the first one so special, and a few storylines just didn’t hit the same way. That said, the jokes are still sharp, the characters remain incredibly lovable, and the plots are consistently interesting. There’s still plenty to enjoy here, and it’s hard not to get invested in these people after spending so much time with them. Season 2 was nothing more than an alternate lifestyle infomercial devoid of everything that made season 1 so good. It’s a perfect example of the clickbait tactics Hollywood has begun to employ. Put out a quality show, get people hooked on it, then reveal the show’s true agenda and hope people don’t tune out. It was easy to figure out where this show was headed before the end the first episode and I tuned out shortly thereafter. And I won’t be coming back…ever. See more Renan U @RT78862611 Aug 5 I absolutely loved the first seasons of Ted Lasso. It was one of the few shows my family and I could sit down and enjoy together. The focus on soccer, humor, friendship, leadership, forgiveness, and personal growth is what made the series so special. Unfortunately, the show started to lose me toward the end of Season 2, and it continued throughout Season 3 and into Season 4. I felt the increasing focus on gay and lesbian romance took away from the story that originally made me love the series. In particular, the scenes involving two male characters kissing felt unnecessary to me and seemed to receive more emphasis than I personally wanted from a show like this. I understand that other viewers may enjoy those storylines, and I respect that everyone has different preferences. For me, though, Ted Lasso was at its best when it focused on soccer, humor, teamwork, friendship, and personal growth.
