The issue with Oscar is the adoption of Magnier's French humor, an ambiance that doesn't correspond well. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Despite all the running around, the movie still feels slow, dragging sluggishly toward the end of its long 109 minutes. Go to Full Review

When you're looking to remake French cinema, the name 'Stallone' leaps immediately to mind. As in, 'for God's sake, don't cast Sylvester Stallone!' Go to Full Review

Tony M @tonymedleyjuniorjr 2 days ago This movie is probably the most " We gotta break down the script-writing" movie in Cinephobe history. Stallone gets to show his comedy chops, and honestly, I like Funny Stallone than Action Stallone. Despite being almost two hours, it doesn’t overstay its welcome because of its frantic pacing. It just keeps asking you, “What the hell is this movie about?” It’s basically one long Who’s on First? bit The supporting cast is strong, with Marisa Tomei as the Next Jane Carey. Chazz Palminteri is AOff. Special RIP goes to Tim Curry, who has the unenviable task of teaching Stallone how to speak English “good.” Amin will hate the wife. This is a Phile with Snacks. I’d watch it again with friends—or with my dad. I hope. I’ve never met him. He met Mom during a screening of Big Momma’s House. But they never kept in touch after. See more Horror fan 4 @Horrorfan4life Sep 8, 2026 Stallone was an enjoyable and funny character as mr provolone. Another star studded lineup of actors with don ameche, Tim Curry, Marisa tomei, and Peter riegert. On a day he promises to go legit Mr provolone finds more difficult than he ever imagined. The best thing is it takes place in one location. It's campy, silly, and at times obnoxious. But it's hilarious and I can't get enough of it. All of the running around, the confusion on everyone's faces, and even the end when we finally meet Oscar himself, it keeps the laughs and eye rolls coming. It's not your typical Stallone action film. I enjoyed the budding relationship between Marisa Tomei and Time Curry. it's a light comedy and should be viewed that way. Stallone is making fun of Mafia gangster movies and he did very well.
