Eli H @EliHendricks 3 days ago What starts as a by the numbers slice of life picture becomes the revelation of man's sins. While slightly melodramatic in it's tone at times the movie thrives with stellar performances from Edward G. Robinson as the manufacturing tycoon patriarch of the Keller family and Burt Lancaster as the son who is forced to confront what he always knew his father had been. Mady Christians is incredible as the matriarch of the family, a woman who knows but refuses to see. The writing is superb, giving you just enough at every turn to keep you invested before revealing more about the web of lies that has been woven. In the end this is a movie about hypocrisy that doesn't pull it's punches. See more Martin B @RT44235356 Jul 20, 2024 Edward G. makes a good story great. A good cast helps, with a particularly memorable performance by Edward G. Robinson as the mis-guided, all-too-human antagonist. A drama that's well worth your time. En la versión de 1948 el padre, interpretado por Edward G. Robinson, nunca termina de convencer, su propia estatura ya lo limita para este papel.
