The movie is so-so. See more Nov 17, 2009 Not really a horror film, Dr. Renault's Secrett is an atmospheric murder mystery with a SF/horror element that is unnecessary to most of the plot. Any one of a number of less fantastic premises could have been substituted without making it a much different movie. George Zucco gives the sort of solid performance he contributed to many a horror or mystery movie in his day. The rest of the cast do a good job in their supporting roles. The starring turn is that by J. Carroll Naish, who demonstrates that he truly was in a class with the great Lon Chaney Sr.. Good film. Great performance by Naish ! See more Read all reviews
