Ex-military ops officer Conner Connolly (Kevin Dillon) has one day to pay $2 million in reparations to a local gang leader in order to save his kidnapped wife. With her life on the line, Conner must recruit his old crew, led by Brice Mason (Frank Grillo), to pull off a series of dangerous heists to repay the money he owes and settle a score with the city's corrupt police chief (Bruce Willis). Sometimes Willis' low-budget action movies have quirky little touches that distract from their awfulness, but this one has none; it's as lazy, nonsensical, and junky-looking as they come.

A low-budget action movie, and Miller doesn't deliver anything more than that, going painfully generic with shootouts and showdowns, often caught skipping on storytelling clarity as this nonsense unfolds.

I think a playwright wrote the screenplay. In general, the movie is kind of odd and annoying. So is the acting. It's too distracting to be entertaining.

While the premise had potential, the execution leaves much to be desired, with key plot points feeling rushed or underdeveloped, making it difficult to connect with the characters or care about the outcomes. The action sequences, while occasionally entertaining, are sporadic and fail to carry the weight of a compelling thriller, leaving the film feeling uneven and unpolished. The cast, despite their talent, is underutilized, and the interactions between characters often come across as forced rather than natural. Overall, A Day to Die squanders opportunities to build tension or emotional investment, resulting in a movie that struggles to resonate. Its pacing and plot inconsistencies prevent it from leaving a lasting impression, and it’s not a film I can confidently recommend to viewers seeking action at least

Not a Wes Miller success. Bland and very rushed to finish. Whole cast seems a bit dazed and confused as to what is expected from them. Vague storyline with lots of holes, millions of bullets disappearing in the ether, oh you know, regular low budget Hollywood jargon. Not really anything that stands out, even cinematography is sub par and looks like visual effects were done on my first IBM XT computer. A farrago
