Jonathan J @RT40335769 09/15/2024 I’ve seen some of the negative reviews, and while they raise valid points, I think they’re a bit too critical. This film isn’t trying to be an Oscar contender—it’s a fun, lighthearted comedy, and on that level, it succeeds. I gave it 5 stars because I was genuinely entertained and found myself laughing out loud more times than I expected. The movie never felt dull or dragged on, and the cast had a believable sense of camaraderie and friendship that really pulled me in. It’s witty, enjoyable, and easy to watch—perfect for when you just want to sit back and have a good time. Honestly, I haven’t had this much fun watching a film in quite a while. Jason Sudekis is himself in this one, which makes it watchable because he is funny and has some good presence. When Don Johnson, his Dad, decides to sell Jason's party house in the Hamptons, Sudekis and his loser friends come up with a scheme to save the property by scaring away buyers. Lake Bell, Will Forte, and a young Nick Kroll have small roles. As a former Suffolk resident and New Yorker enjoyed the fact that this was really filmed in New York. The movie made me smile in parts. It struggles to be a little bit Caddyshack, and a little bit Stripes, but not as good as either.
