Jens B @Jens97 1 day ago My favorite purveyor of sleaze, Joe D'Amato, managed to carve out a week between his various porn projects to whip up a horror shocker with his buddy George Eastman—only this time, it’s red gore splashing across the screen... This film is bad. Yet, it delivers almost everything I expected: for 80 percent of the runtime, absolutely nothing happens—just characters wandering around to the sound of psychedelic music that sounds like a cat walking across a synthesizer. Then there are two infamous, stomach-churning scenes, all garnished with plenty of truly awful dialogue. It’s quintessential low-budget Italian sleaze, courtesy of the Filmirage label. The only area where *Antropophagus* is surprisingly chaste is in its lack of sex and nudity. If you’re into this particular brand of cinema, give it a watch! Everyone else can safely use this "man-eater" as a sleep aid. See more Justin T @RT08580778 Jul 30, 2025 This was pretty sick really. It was very slow for the first half. The last half was better but nothing too impressive, I can imagine that it was horrific when it was first released and because it has aged badly it is more shocking for the ideas now. There were some really impressive scenes actually considering the age and budget. One scene was stupidly violent and the other violent scenes were tackier. Not especially scary but the beast was really monstrous for the few scenes that he was in. Bearable but only just. One scene was not bearable. The ending was acceptable.
