…for a Michael Winner film, this Agatha Christie adaptation is remarkably cogent and well-assembled, but judged by the standards of any normal film, Appointment with Death is utterly deathly…. feel free to skip this appointment. Go to Full Review

I can't outright dismiss a movie in which Piper Laurie has the tremendous luxury of dying six times in a row. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Winner has never quite maintained a consistent quality, though he certainly has maintained a consistency of style -- and that makes this both interesting and wrongheaded. Go to Full Review

Frans B @FransB Feb 7 Classic movie well done in classic manner. Good adaptation of the novel and brilliantly portrayed by very well seasoned cast. Very good writing and cinematography, visually appealing. Lots of mystery, suspense, drama, intrigue and emotion. Entertaining and memorable See more Tom M 01/20/2025 Winner has to be one of the worst directors who ever made major budget movies. This is so poorly put together that even the high powered cast members can't raise a flicker of interest. So someone dies, someone killed them...so what? See more Joanne W 01/17/2025 So bad it was good. Even better with edibles. See more Kate S 01/05/2025 Evil Under the Sun is one of my favorite movies with Peter Ustinov in a somewhat comic rule. Part of the appeal of that movie is the music it is all Cole Porter and the movie seems to be choreographed to it. This movie is missing a decent score or any type of music that actually works for a mystery and some of the worst sound I've ever heard in a movie. People standing in a room talking are hard to hear and there's an echo because the room is empty. I thought that was something professionals avoided at all costs . Whoever did the sound and the voices was very inconsistent. That said it's a typical Agatha Christie mystery with a lot of very forgettable acting. See more Ramona L 12/21/2024 I guess my perspective goes against the majority, but I find Utinov to be the worst Poirot imaginable. His accent is pitiable as is his acting. The other stars seem to be playing for laughs. Every performance is over the top. I really wanted to like it. I tried, but didn't succeed. See more Alec B @Alec97 12/02/2024 Ustinov is still a great Poirot but this is mostly a bore. See more Read all reviews
