Ted B @Movieaddicted 07/07/2024 3.5 stars; This movie was made nearly a century ago, but it is good enough to have been released last week, and receive great reviews. Such a clever plot, along the lines of "To Catch a Thief". Although with a different ending, but just as clever. You couldn't ask for a better acting performance from the Barrymore brothers, Lionel and John. This was the first time they appeared together in a 'talkie'. There was comedy, sexual reference (before the code), and twists and turns. This is definitely my kind of movie. Good job! See more 06/01/2019 I love this movie- the wit, the charm, the parties-- it is fun! See more W. W. W @Witt2k9 05/06/2019 Karen Morley was not attractive for the part, certainly compared to Marian Marsh in another John Barrymore's Svengali. See more ashley h @ashleyhobgood87 10/18/2018 Arsene Lupin is an amazing film. It is about a detective who is tasked to capture an elusive thief called Arsene Lupin. John and Lionel Barrymore give fantastic performances. The screenplay is good but a little slow in places. Jack Conway did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the drama and mystery. Arsene Lupin is a must see. See more 04/06/2017 With John and Lionel Barrymore. Rakish jewel thief.
