BABY RUBY tells the story of Jo, a successful lifestyle entrepreneur who is happily pregnant, awaiting the arrival of her first child. But soon after Jo welcomes baby Ruby home, something starts to feel off--even though she's assured it's all perfectly normal. Is something wrong with her? Is something wrong with Ruby? And why are the seemingly perfect neighborhood moms so desperate to befriend her? As Jo fights to protect herself and her baby, she is plunged into a waking fever dream where everyone is a threat and nothing is what it seems. At last, she must confront the truth of her own darkness and contend with the ultimate human sacrifice: The one mothers make for their children.

There's no denying that Merlant gives her all, and there are some truly unsettling moments, particularly when Jo yells at her child. But the excruciatingly self-aware finale isn't worth the slog to get there.

Totally cute intro and I can only imagine what is to come soon. Mommy is giving off a disturbing vibe, I'm not sure if it's relevant yet. How excited and terrified mommy appears, feels like her mind is fracturing with her visions or hallucinations. As a father of 3, I totally get her apprehension with being a first-time parent. It's so scary and a bit overwhelming at times, and our mommy is beyond frustrated, and I don't think she understands that her emotions are felt deeply by her baby. Postpartum sucks

Sure, if one finds a crying baby to be amusing, this could be entertaining... but it’s not, IT’S NOTHING BUT A BABY CRYING. This is the second film I’ve seen do this, just stop, no one wants to see it. Banal ending.
