An entertaining film that takes us through some of the historical narratives of Romania and intertwines them with modern day life in the time of social media. See more Jonah K @RT99883862 07/31/2024 For the first third of the movie, the camera seems to be constantly distracted, panning away from the main storyline to focus on various context. I couldn’t tell if these moments were out of place or if the main narrative itself was intruding on these moments. Whether one was emphasizing or deemphasizing the other. This most likely will be seen as incredibly pretentious, but I found it strangely fascinating. Overall, a confident, topical and very well executed satire. Other than that, I couldn’t imagine being a teacher in this modern age. I liked the "showdown" between the teacher and the parents; the dialogue and the tension show us a glimpse of a reality in which something like this happened. The other parts went a little too far: the porn video too long, the entire romanian montage was too much and felt like an effort from the director to score some important awards and nomination.
