I thought Bhooth Bangla would recreate the magic of Bollywood’s golden comic era and it tried doing that with a modern twist, but didn’t match up to the expectations that I had from a Priyadarshan’s directorial film.

Perhaps more effort could have been expended on clearly explaining why the bat-shaped creature is stalking Arjun and Meera. Instead, Bhooth Bangla is a victim of laziness coupled with banality.

Movie is OK. But all of them look really old. First half is a non stop shouting match. Movie improves in the 2nd half. But they all give same expressions and direction is same as his old films. Akshays acting is bad and dialogue delivery is not good. He speaks with his throat choked up all the time, very annoying!

It seems a mix of multiple movies. Cast of Bhool Bhulaiya (with similar storytelling, similar room of mystery without keys, similar song casting of Vidya Balan), a little plot of Maa (Kajol's movie, Back of Home - The Mystery Jungle, and Power of Trees. The movie kept me engaged for 3 hours, so it was a horror comedy the first half was mostly comedy, with a twist in the second half.
