Everything is just as it ought to be in such a picture. Go to Full Review

A preposterous but harmless swordopera in CinemaScope, rather enjoyable on a comic-strip level. Go to Full Review

Andy W @Severndwarf Jan 14 Let us not go to Falworth, 'tis a silly place. It's just dreadful but a real hoot if it's raining outside. Long standing claims that it contains utterance, attributed to Tony Curtis, 'Yahnder lies da castle of my fahdder' are false - but if ever a film deserved to include that line, this is it. In the long run though, watch Robert Taylor and Elizabeth Taylor and the rest of a brilliant cast in the 1952 Ivanhoe instead. See more Steve D 01/23/2024 Dated but somewhat fun. See more 11/28/2019 It is simple by today's standards... no real special effects, no historical importance... but I loved that movie when I saw it for $.25 in our school gym in 1960 and I loved it years later when I rented a VCR cassette and made my kids watch it with me. It is simple... old-fashioned... maybe even trite by today's standards. Technicolor pageantry... knights is armor, damsels in distress... escapist adventure that took me out of my brown, repressive, small town life. It is still worth watching - if for no other reason to see Tony Curtis at the height of his make-every-woman-swoon stardom and Janet Leigh in her youthful radiance - and a tremendous supporting cast. This isn't a great movie - but it is great entertainment! See more 04/15/2015 a good movie nice costumes, horses and riders of horses in scenes of knights fighting See more 12/25/2014 My favorite Tony Curtis film. See more 04/03/2013 Henry IV Parts 1 & 2 were never like this! But then I don't think Shakespeare had much of a hand in this screenplay. See more Read all reviews
