In 1930s Marseille, France, gangster Siffredi (Alain Delon) wants to locate his old girlfriend when he gets out of jail. But Siffredi's old flame is with another gangster, Capella (Jean-Paul Belmondo), and a fight ensues. After cooling off, the two men decide to become partners, and embark on a slow but steady quest to control the criminal underworld. They start with fixing fights and horse races but eventually move into more dangerous territory that puts their lives at stake.

See more 08/13/2010 Alain Delon and Jean-Paul Belmondo buddy up in this 1970 French gangster film as they go from the small-time to the big-time. Kiind of similar to Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid though the clothes are snappier, and apparently Borsalino is a fedora hat company. Delon, en revanche, fait pale figure a ses cotes, surjouant le caid italien (encore que ce sera pire dans la suite) et dont le seul merite est d'avoir engage Bebel au casting (avec qui il se disputera neanmoins pour une histoire de nom a l'affiche).
