Set in a world where oxygen scarcity dictates survival, the film explores how control, fear, and desperation warp human behavior. Its strongest element is Zora, whose technical competence and moral clarity ultimately stand in sharp contrast to characters like Lucas, who mistake domination for survival. That said, Breed often withholds too much. Key developments, particularly how locations are discovered and how power shifts, are implied rather than clearly dramatized, which can feel frustrating rather than clever. The pacing is slow, and viewers expecting momentum or spectacle will be disappointed. Still, the film earns its ending. The final act reframes the story around cooperation, knowledge, and rebuilding, giving purpose to earlier bleakness. Breed is thoughtful and unsettling, but uneven in execution. I started this movie late at night, which almost guarantees a deep sleep before all of the main characters are introduced. However, this movie captured my attention and held it through out the entire movie. Even after the movie ended, it took some time for my mind to settle down. Well, most are just a big pile of crap. As is this one!! For most of the time it's just boring, and when there is any tension at all, it's pretty illogical. You can fast-forward through 80% or more of this nonsense, and will still have wasted your time. 2/10 points! Great supporting cast tried to do well but Jennifer Hudson in the lead was awkward and painful to watch. She was out of her depth and wore one emotion on her face.
