In this tense thriller, John Travolta is Mason, leader of a high-end crew of thieves that hang it up for good after a double-cross spells a near miss with the law. But when he's thrust into his younger brother Shawn's hare-brained scheme to rob a bank -- and tempted by what could be his biggest score ever -- Mason jumps right back into his old ways. Then the heist goes awry, and the thieves are trapped inside the bank with hostages while surrounded by SWAT teams, the FBI, and Interpol. Included among the authorities waiting to nab the crew is someone Mason knows well: lead negotiator Decker (Kristin Davis) -- Mason's former lover.

Cash Out is a paint-by-numbers action-thriller that even with a few intriguing ideas is sadly so anemically paced and rudimentarily plotted it runs out of steam before it has the chance to pick up even a modicum of speed.

At 70, Travolta still exudes a certain movie-star twinkle in the heist thriller, which plays like a solid, B-movie riff on The Thomas Crown Affair.

A poor man fast and furious type of movie. You get a crew that does jobs and consider themselves invisible because of family. Its ok nothing grossly offensive, but nothing to write home about either.

John Travolta will always have a screen presence, but the rest of the cast was very poorly chosen, especially the roles of Lukas Haas (the brother) and Kristin Davis (the girlfriend/FBI agent). Kristin Davis has no bone in her body to play any authority figure role. If they had chosen better casting, this movie could have been mildly decent, at least a 2 or 3 star.

What is movie making coming to these days? JT should have gone into studio ownership/management like Tyler Perry or started acting classes years ago. But who would listen to him now that he as been involved in such generic retina destroying abysmal mindrot in recent years!? Wake up JT. Your career is over. Move on and adapt or fade away.
