This quest for a fantastical machine is portrayed in an original style and on an admirably low budget. To follow the plot, much reading of sentences from books on screen is required, which makes this a fit for cerebral viewers. Yet anyone who understands how the world works would find this machine ridiculous, unearned, and a questionable choice to satisfy the same viewer. From beginning to end, you feel as though you’re not merely watching the story you’re participating in its unfolding mystery. It’s engaging, thrilling, and refreshingly original. Even after the credits roll, the experience stays with you, leaving you asking, "What just happened here?" Give yourself time afterward to process it, because this isn’t a movie you simply leave behind, you take it with you. Go see it.
