For me, Coyote Ugly is one of those movies. Hands down, it’s one of my all-time favorites. What makes it so special is the way it celebrates women who are unapologetically strong, bold, and fearless. The Coyotes themselves are not just bartenders—they’re icons. They embody empowerment while still being approachable and fun, and that balance gives the film a timeless quality. Every scene bursts with energy, confidence, and that sense of rebellion that makes you want to stand up and cheer. At the center of it all is Piper Perabo, who gives a career-defining performance as Violet “Jersey” Sanford. She nails the underdog spirit of a small-town girl with big dreams, carrying the film with raw heart and vulnerability while never letting her character lose sight of her strength. Watching her fight for her place in the world is inspiring, and Perabo’s natural charisma makes Violet’s journey resonate with anyone who has ever dared to chase something bigger than themselves. And then there’s the cast—what a lineup. Izabella Miko, Tyra Banks, Maria Bello, Bridget Moynahan, John Goodman, and of course, the unforgettable LeAnn Rimes. Each one of them adds their own spark, their own piece of the puzzle, creating an ensemble that feels electric. This film would not be what it is without that perfect mix of talent. The casting team deserves every ounce of credit for assembling a group that clicks so seamlessly together. The direction keeps the energy flowing, balancing the quieter, emotional beats with the outrageous, over-the-top fun that has become Coyote Ugly’s signature. Sure, the film isn’t flawless—there are rough edges, moments where the story doesn’t quite know its next move—but none of that diminishes its impact. In fact, those imperfections make it more endearing, more alive. Coyote Ugly may not be perfect by traditional standards, but to me, it’s pure perfection. It’s uplifting, it’s exhilarating, and it’s endlessly rewatchable. Every time I revisit it, I find myself swept up again in its infectious energy and reminded why I fell in love with it in the first place. See more Blu B Apr 16 The music is pretty good in this. It's a borderline quasi jukebox musical at times. But there pretty catchy numbers and it's used well. Everything else isn't bad honestly. Piper & Goodman are great and easily the two ebst things in this besides the soundtrack. I wish it had more of those two together because honestly it's the best parts. The bar scenes are just borderline PG exploitation. It's like a PG version of the opening scene of Barb Wire effectively. Who the heck cares what the story is or once you've seen them shake it once you've seen it all the next 10-12 times. The trick is though is it has a lot of energy and fun to it. In terms of the actual storytelling it gets muddled in the middle at points. Her becoming a songwriter and the bar/coming out of her shell feels like two seperate films until it comes together at the end. It follows a pretty predictable conclusion also. It's harmless Bruckeimer type fluff/blockbuster type stuff. I get why a lot of people like this though. And I wouldn't put up a fight really if someone called this good. I get it. It's mindless fun and very easy watching with a typical happy ending. I sincerely get it. Anyone who is a fan of any actors in this, the director, or wants a comfort late 90's-00's movie should check this out. Trás uma nostalgia incrível e um enredo e desenvolver dos personagens que você já imagina o que irá acontecer, mas mesmo assim se empolga para ver como vai acontecer. Amo cada detalhe. There's nothing all that noteworthy to say about this, you'll either enjoy it or you won't; I doubt there's much middle ground. For me, it works. It's well paced and well acted, the music is well chosen too - s/o LeAnn Rimes. I'm pretty sure I've seen this before when I was younger, so long ago that I hadn't had it logged on here. I can't say I totally remembered it whilst watching, though many of the scenes did feel familiar and I recalled the main cast. Speaking of which, Piper Perabo is good as lead. Maria Bello, John Goodman and Adam Garcia are also solid. Just discovered that this has the same director as Kangaroo Jack.
