Set against the sun-bleached grit of Los Angeles, Crime 101 weaves the tale of an elusive jewel thief (Chris Hemsworth) whose string of heists along the 101 freeway have mystified police. When he eyes the score of a lifetime, his path crosses that of a disillusioned insurance broker (Halle Berry) who is facing her own crossroads. Convinced he has found a pattern, a relentless detective (Mark Ruffalo) is closing in, raising the stakes even higher. As the heist approaches, the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur, and all three are faced with life-defining choices--and the realization that there can be no turning back. Adapted from Don Winslow's acclaimed novella of the same name, the film is written and directed by Bart Layton (American Animals, The Imposter). Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Nick Nolte round out the cast.

We walked out before film ended. In a nut she’ll, it was incredibly boring. The cast with the exception of Barry Keoghan were uninteresting. This film really needed sharp witty characters to contrast Keoghan’s intense high energy character.

They took an all-star cast and made a 1 star movie. Slow, uninteresting and miscast characters - Crime 101 should be considered a crime against audiences. Halle Berry's acting chops were completely wasted. No amount of acting, however solid, would convince anyone that Chris Hemsworth isn't comfortable in his own skin, or socially backward and uncertain/confused man. The two outstanding roles which were played to perfection was Mark Ruffalo and Barry Keoghan (plus an excellent cameo by Nick Nolte). Great action driving sequences - just not enough to help the overall storyline and plodding dialog.

Loved it! Felt like a well done movie from a few decades ago—but still fresh and new!! I wish they made more movies like this!! Everyone in our little trio thoroughly enjoyed it! And what a wonderful cast!! We need more movies like this and ALWAYS more Halle Berry!! But really the entire ensemble was just fantastic—Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, Monica Barbaro, Corey Hawkins, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Nick Nolte and again… Halle Barry!! You just can’t go wrong!! Add in a smart script, excellent cinematography—Movie Heaven!!
