Logan D @Greynomad38 Dec 7 In the outskirts 1960s San Francisco, volunteers at a hidden zoo for "mythical" creatures attempt to save a Baku (dream eating creature) from the Johnson administration. An adult animated fantasy that unfortunately features mixed media collage animation with stiff marionette like characters and creatures. I found it to be emotionally distant with uneven pacing. It is dreamlike with mythic storytelling and has some nice colorization but it's best aspect is that it features some obscure creatures of myth. Almost like stop action animation. Very hard on the eyes. Very violent for an animated movie. A lot of poorly drawn blood and some poorly drawn nudity. The director and animators must have authority issues. Very strange visually, near psychedelic.
