06/13/2015 Another stinker from an era wherein it was all about the drive-in business, and Curucu, Beast of the Amazon certainly fits the bill. This is certainly a movie that you'd rather be necking with someone than actually watching because it's just a terrible movie. Spoilers be damned, but there is no monster in this movie. It's just a guy pretending to be one, and that could work in a movie with a lot of atmosphere and some decent characters, but this movie has none of that. It's very cheaply and poorly made with no substance to it at all. It's easily a skippable bad B movie. See more 06/07/2015 A moderately amusing jungle adventure which places Bromfield in dangerous Amazon territory alongside the courageous Garland. Bromfield plays a plantation owner who wants to find out why his workers are leaving the fields and returning to the jungles. Garland is trudging through the marshes on a mission to find a cure for cancer in a native's head-shrinking formula. They face the usual creepy jungle obstacles--spiders and snakes and piranhas--but none of them stop Bromfield from getting some answers. Payne, poorly suited up as a giant bird, is trying to frighten the peasants away from the exploitative plant owners. Garland's quest for a cancer cure goes ignored as the two travelers fall under the spell of Eros. See more Read all reviews
