I’ve admittedly watched Damsel twice, so it’s obvious that, flaws and all, the film put a big enough smile on my face that I had no problem sitting down for an almost immediate second look.

Even on the smaller screen, though, the fresh, female-led take on the traditional tale, including a bit of a sisterhood-is-powerful twist near the end, makes it worth a watch.

Pretty intense and a very cool dragon but they overdid the plot armour a bit. And idk how the dragon is able to talk and make deals. And there’s parts of the story that don’t really make a lot of sense but you just have to overlook it. This was still a cool little movie though. Don’t feel I wasted my time with this and Millie Bobby Brown’s performance is very good.

Millie's performance was brilliant. The CGI turned out pretty good, personally. The plot did not pull all heart strings for me. It was. regardless, elegant to witness. I like that it was a girl power movie. Elodie to everyone's rescue. It felt rather rushed, like clues kept finding HER instead of the other way around. The focus was way too much on making it all dragon-y that the rest was skimmed through. There was not enough time for any serious chemistry to develop between the Prince and the Damsel, because of which his actions stirred minimal to no emotions. There was not enough a bond between anyone for that matter, and the only thing which remained to exist, rather skewed Damsel-Dragon relationship. Anyway... Amazing for a single watch.

It’s an absolute blast of a dark fantasy flick that completely flips the classic "damsel in distress" cliché on its head. Millie Bobby Brown holds her own, but honestly? Robin Wright as Queen Isabelle absolutely steals the bloody show. She plays the villain with such cold, ruthless elegance, proper icy perfection. It’s snappy, looks brilliant, and makes for a dead easy, wildly entertaining evening watch. Ignore the 57%-ish ratings and give it a go
