The opening scenes turned me off. I hate bullies, and we were shown a classic cliched boy and really unpleasant girl, bullying our hero. So, derivative, cliched, and unpleasant. You say it got better? Too late.

I really wasn't expecting too much from the film, but I wasn't pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The main characters had a special believable chemistry. For everyone who was a little different, this film teaches a lesson for them and everyone, learn to love and accept who you are, only then can you truly love another.
