Patric N @RT66624675 2 days ago Entertaining movie but I found no way to conclude who the killer was and this time, Charlie Chan didn't tell us how he solved it. This movie had potential. Of course, this valuable prize leads to multiple murders. It's up to Charlie and his Number 2 Son to solve these murders, which he does. This movie is typical of the series. Nothing outstanding. A little trivia: George Reeves, who made a career playing Superman on television years later, appears as a reporter and carries much of the suspicion early in the movie. Otherwise it is the usual goings on with a spooky atmosphere and a murderer on board a ship. A man turns up dead and Detective Chan and his son #1 and son #2 are on the case. They dwindle down their suspects and Detective Chan lets his son's take the lead on the investigation while making clever observances himself. "Would like to know if you possess a wooden leg." Harry Lachman, director of Dante's Inferno, Castle in the Desert, The Devil is Driving, Dressed to Thrill, No Time to Marry, and It Happened in Hollywood, delivers Dead Men Tell. The storyline for this picture is fun in a Sherlock Holmes kind of way with cool settings and characters. The cast delivers solid performances and includes Sidney Toler, Donald Douglas, Kay Aldridge, and George Reeves. "Hello beautiful, where have you been?" I saw the previews for this and DVR'd it off Movies!. This was fun to watch unfold but wasn't a movie I think everyone would like. It is a slow developing murder mystery. The movie is fun but just average overall. "His impulse is always to run away from trouble."
