Martin B @RT44235356 Sep 22, 2026 Mostly a movie about malcontents. Cesar Romero's character wants to be anything other then a fisherman. Grumpy Anne Revere's character just wants a kid to do chores. Jean Peters specializes in rejecting Dana Andrews character and Dana Andrews try as he might can win over Jean Peters or get on the same page with her with the kid. The kid especially annoying by acting out any time things don't go his way. Of course there has to be a crises setting up the big ending where everything is resolved and they sail off happily into the sunset. Still we have to endure all the grumpiness and the kids all too phony scro[ted calamities to get to all that wonderfulness at the end. Sets and scenery first rate.
