Offers pretty much everything a fan could want from a feature-length continuation of the beloved Masterpiece series.

"Downton Abbey," an enjoyable but uneven film adaptation of the beloved PBS series, seems designed to give fans what they want.

It's been four long years since series creator Jullian Fellowes said goodbye to the Crawleys on TV, but it's safe to say that he hasn't missed a beat since then, bringing all of our favorite characters back to life for a royal dinner to remember

While it's delightful to think of Mrs. Patmore and Daisy forever bustling in their kitchen, and Cora and Robert forever waltzing across a parquet floor, I hope this movie closes the door on Downton Abbey for good.

It's just such a breezy watch.

So close to perfection. A movie must become an annual event.

If you were among the millions of fans who suffered Downton withdrawal, by all means get thee to your local cinema this weekend. Downton Abbey, the movie, is bigger, if not exactly better, than ever.

DOWNTON ABBEY reminds us why we were all such fans of the series.

Rarely do I get to have such fun with a film, and I am going to relish in it. It's an event worthy of the Queen.

From the first magical notes of the Downton Abbey theme to the brilliant final scenes, Engler and Fellowes do this amazingly talented ensemble justice.

The film serves its fanbase extremely well, sprinkling the soiree with breezy performances and crowd-pleasing humour...it's predictably pleasant, contains no surprises and leaves you with a sizeable smile.
