Par H @Parhwy 16h This B/W film from 1958 is terrible. It would need a ladder to get to B-grade. I am unsure if it is Cold War propaganda. The main baddy has an accent however it was not Russian to my ear; his 2IC is a German, a former concentration camp doctor who did experiments on prisoners (clearly, he bypassed Nuremberg). Remember that ladder I mentioned? All acting is wooden too. Most scenes are characters talking to each other, either seated or… standing! As a science fiction / thriller / horror, the story is possible; the plot is improbable, made of convenience and would-you-believe-its (that’s a pun on wood, btw). The fight scenes are laughable. There is a love story sub-plot with as much electricity as a desiccated potato. Supposedly set in France, the few exterior sets are unlikely French. The French characters speak English mostly, sometimes only français, and sometimes English with smatterings of français. Music is swirly whirly computery noises. Not worth watching.
