They tried to create something with a deeper story focusing on the survivors, while also updating the zombies into something more terrifying. Unfortunately, it just fell a bit flat.

Extinction has an interesting spin on the zombies themselves and does a good job of featuring two very different ways to live out the zombie apocalypse, but ultimately adds little life to the subgenre.

This movie is SO boring. 40 minutes in and the most action that’s happened aside from the beginning is unfortunately the dog being killed off. I was wondering why this movie was so long and now I know it’s because of the extremely SLOOOWWWW pace. If any of my friends said they liked this movie, I’d never watch anything with them because I know their taste sucks lol

The dad was so petty with his eternal grudge towards his friend or brother or whatever. His wife asked him to kill her because she was infected, so he should get over it already. He stood by and just watched while his friend and the dog got bit, yet he acts like he's the bad guy. If he had shot the zombie in the first place instead of leaving his friend to die, it wouldn't have come after his daughter later. He never thanked his friend for saving his life and wouldn't even look at him when he came over for dinner. He was so bitter it was hard to watch. A whole 10 years had passed and he never got over it, it's like jesus just get over it already. People make mistakes

Much better than the ratings here. My only complaint is Mathew Fox went from being a long haired madman, to a stunningly handsome leading man. The change was just too severe to be believable.

It’s really not as bad as people wrote here in the reviews. Unlike what people have written, there is good zombie action albeit it’s more towards the ends. I might be an easy audience and I also really enjoy zombie movies, but I was on the edge of my seat for most of it. I liked it.

I’m sorry I thought it was a good movie, I shut the light off and turned on the surround sound and it had some really scary scenes to where I jumped.
