After Terry (Karen Allen) tells a computer store clerk where she lives, the information falls into the hands of the clerk's co-worker Karl (Ted Marcoux), the serial murderer known as the "Address Book Killer." When Karl is injured in a car crash, his doctors place him in an MRI machine. As Karl dies, the computer powering the machine extracts his soul. The murderous computer system then locates Terry and tries to kill her by turning technological devices into deadly weapons.

While Talalay and her writers have dreamed up a number of fairly imaginative ways to show the hazards of household machines and gadgets, their horror effort offers few truly scary moments and not a few ridiculous ones.

Ghost in the Machine is one of those movies where you know right away it’s not here to make sense. Every single scene goes out of its way to avoid logic, and instead of building up on a cool "soul in a computer" concept, it just gives us floating electrical blobs that magically grow skin. The acting is basically background noise except for Chris Mulkey, who kind of does his thing while everyone else just drifts through their lines. Trying to follow the plot is pointless, there’s really no point breaking it down, because it pretty much breaks itself. Cinematography? Don’t even bother. The film tries so hard to be original that it ends up in a weird, campy space that’s entertaining only if you’re in the mood for some absurd, turn-your-brain-off type of movie night. If you want to see what happens when logic goes on vacation and electrical ghosts get creative, this one’s for you. Otherwise, it’s a one-time watch.

I liked the movie. The kid Josh is sooo handsome. Also it’s rated R so don’t be mad that there are a few inappropriate scenes in the movie and that there are violent scenes.
