07/17/2022 A powerful, gut wrenching movie with stunning cinematography and score. Th fact that it is based on actual events that were well covered by the press makes it even more important to watch. It didn't shy away from telling the horrors but also left some things to the imagination. We were unable to look away & I sat at the edge of my seat throughout the film. Fantastic movie. This was an engaging must see movie, that enables a glimpse into the nightmare that ISIS visited on ordinary people, and the courage of those that fought back, and won. Wonderful atmospheric camera work, and a plot line that fits to the chaos of the times. If you don't believe it, ask someone who was there. They are heroes. Thank you for making this movie. The critics are wrong, this is an advancement in both story telling and cinematography. But the real advance is in showing what a female cast can do in order to tell the truth about the ugliness of war. See more 09/08/2019 Great film. Really intelligent portrayal of the human rights abuses committed by ISIS against the Yezidi people, and women more specifically. Also an interesting view of war through women's eyes.
