It has a real vintage feel to it, reminiscent of 1960's b/w kitchen sink dramas such as Poor Cow. I was really surprised it was a recent production. The acting is 100%, and I felt it was a welcome reminder that although we don't all dance to the same beat, there is beauty and love in lives that can be incomprehensible and chaotic to the mainstream eye. Having worked in social services this film would make good required viewing for trainee social workers. It has the feel of future curriculum viewing.
