With that being said, it was incredibly entertaining and had me riding on my seat to the bitter end. A cat and mouse scenario in most part, with interludes of extreme and graphic violence and excellent performance from the two lead actors. A movie where you can almost taste the fear and anguish of the victims of a psychotic killer and the pain suffered by their families and loved ones and one may even empathize with the sentiment for revenge which in its own way leads to tragic consequences. But during the movie like from after the beginning, my god the pacing is comparable to an uncut One Piece episode. The ending is as amazing as the beginning is, but the thing that got me confused was the protagonist expression after he walked away after killing the killer, like was he trying to laugh? See more Pooran S @Pooran Jan 8 Dark, brutal, shocking , gritty ...once seen can never be forgotten, I saw the Devil ( 2010) is the best of the best of Korean cinema if violent, vicious thrillers don't turn your stomach, do watch this terrific movie for it's taut, pacy, violence filled revenge saga, never giving a moment to catch one's breath as the antagonist & protagonist go hammer & tongs at each other in a cat & mouse game with the highest stakes. Watch it also for 2 of the finest legendary Korean actors, Choi Min-Sik, playing the bad guy like an unstoppable force of nature, matched step for step by the good guy played by Lee Byung-Hun as they play out their mortal games till it's shattering, morally violent climax. I have been a huge fan of Choi Min-Sik since I watched his terrific performance in the other morally questionable cult classic thriller Oldboy.
