Kent Nov 11 Lots of heart and laughs. Wonderful story, looks beautiful, great songs. See more Jacob B @JB3.0 1d In Your Dreams isn't perfect. The animation, while not really bad, does have that stereotypical Pixar look to it that you'd be forgiven for thinking AI was used*. It also became clear to me in the third act that there was going to be a twist because not only is the solution handed to our heroes on a silver platter but "Dark is Not Evil" has been a common trope in animation for quite a while now making it clear that Nightmara's actions were for different reasons than we'd been led to believe. However, I still think it's worth checking out thanks to some good comedic timing, likeable characters and a story that gives younger audiences tough-but-fair life lessons. It's not the best animated movie of 2025 and it doesn't go as crazy with the dreaming premise compared to other media but it's enjoyable enough and, at least with regards to the subject matter, could be Mrs. Doubtfire for a new generation. *The new Netflix Animation Studios logo was quite nice. Technically it's pretty good with Simu Liu and Cristin Milioti doing really good work as the parents and I likes the music and score beats. The story is inconsistent and just to rushed. The film had its moments, as all films—even the bad ones—do, but between a bad story, though, uncanny budget animation, and some truly awful advice for struggling children, In Your Dreams earned its spot as the worst kids’ movie I’ve ever seen.
