Influencers (2025) explores the consequences of stolen identity through a more character-driven psychological thriller, focusing on CW’s crumbling new life rather than the crime itself. While its internal conflicts and visual presentation remain engaging, inconsistent writing, weaker suspense, and an unconvincing finale prevent it from matching the impact of the first film. Overall, it's a decent sequel for fans of the original, but it falls short of surpassing its predecessor. by alunauwie

I caught this one at ScreamFest without ever seeing the first one, so I'm speaking on this as a standalone experience. But for what it was, I found it intriguing and entertaining enough, albeit structurally messy.

This sequel amps up on several fronts - punches it packs, ambition of scope and intrigue of the story. And even if it's completely bonkers at times, it's hard not to enjoy the sheer gleeful fun of it all.
