See more Dominic S @Domdabom Mar 1 A great story idea wasted on trending gimmicks, horrible special effects, and corny dialog. Jaws 3, or Jaws 3-D, had the potential to surpass Jaws 2 as the definitive shark sequel due to its creative story line of an overgrown shark trapped in a marine park, devouring employees and tourists. The studio seems to hair thought that the audience just wanted cheap effects and green screen shark props. The worst thing for me, is the shrieking dolphin sound effect that was clearly dubbed in during post production. Bess Armstrong and Dennis Quaid lead the cast, and the acting is not bad, but can't compensate for the poorly written script. A couple of good kills do make this work as an 80s slasher, primarily the death of the British photographer, and the two trespassing teens who sneak into the park at night, as the shark is not seen at all in this scene. A few points for them not really showing the shark during the 1st act, they might have done better if it wasn't shown at all. 2 ½ at best.
