If Kill It and Leave This Town starts to feel a little self-indulgent, it's forgivably so. While this is an openly personal piece of work, many of its themes have a universal resonance: memories, loss, pain, aging and the general absurdity of life.

A man flees reality, finding refuge within a land of memories. A deeply personal work that some regard as indulgent but I found the nightmarish imagery and surrealistic atmosphere to be engaging. Certainly one of the dream logic films I tend to find palatable. Loved the charcoal lined images, a rough handmade style, giving weight to a thematically deep tale which does meander some. This isn't a story but an experience.
