Fifty T @RT01421419 14 hrs ago Beautiful Landscapes, Creepy Monster, Familiar Finish I went into Kraken completely blind and with very modest expectations, which probably helped me enjoy it more than I expected. The opening is genuinely intriguing, with the first 30-min building mystery and atmosphere effectively before the film slips into a 15-20 min stretch that drags just as it should be ramping up. Once the horror finally arrives, though, it delivers some tense action sequences that keep things engaging. The Norwegian fjords provide a stunning backdrop and add plenty of natural atmosphere, while the creature design is suitably creepy and one of the film's strongest assets. The finale works well enough, but it ultimately settles for fairly standard monster-movie tropes instead of doing anything particularly memorable. 6.5/10: It never rises above being a solid creature feature, but for a modest Norwegian monster horror, it provides an enjoyable enough watch despite its uneven pacing and familiar storytelling. About an hour into the movie, something finally happens. The monster is pretty well done, but the ending, on the other hand, is absolutely ridiculous. And of course, the obligatory lesson on environmental protection. If you’re looking for some tentacles, you’re better off watching the Russian film "Kraken." It’s no masterpiece either, but it’s a bit better. So boring. And the ending was ridiculous. And its dubbed. I waited so long to see it. I think you have to wait over an hour for anything worth watching. The characters were awful..i was rooting for the Creature. And come on! No one can hold the breath that long under the water. So disappointed! Decent characters at first, just enough mystery, just enough drama, just enough depth in the protagonists to keep me engaged. Where it started to lose me was just over halfway through. The skin louse were a creative idea, but I feel like the film didn't commit to that creativity. Instead, It was more of a passing creepy thing used for cliche jumpscares and vent chase/face-hugger horror sequences. How they work and the intricacies of their biology was never discussed. Then there's the big bad himself. Honestly, I was expecting folklore to come into this a lot more. I thought the movie would open with some sort of cool folkloric intro about the Kraken, then at the end it would actually end up going the more Lovecraftian cosmic horror route. Both the monster and the characters kept doing stuff that didn't make any sense, and the scale of the Kraken was wildly inconsistent. All in all, very meh. See more Emily I @RT29209339 Jun 30, 2026 Everybody hype this movie up to be something so out of this world to see and I was so ready to watch it so I finally found it dubbed over in English paid $6.99 for the movie just to rent it and when I tell you, this is the most trash movie I’ve seen in a while very much be rated. In my opinion there was not enough plot. The movie didn’t really make a whole lot of extra sense it was just playing, and I almost fell asleep through the movie and it was not holding my attention as I thought it was mind you I’ve waited almost 2 months just to watch the freaking movie and finally watched it and I’m very much disappointed and angry.
