05/31/2017 There is something in the skill and training of writer/director Greg Carter that makes this low-budget straight to DVD/streaming erotic drama better than the average junk in this genre. The writing and performances are a step above what you usually find in this category. Based on a true story. See more 07/01/2016 Good for a laugh or two. Don't expect much more than that. See more 04/19/2015 Supposedly based on a true story, I'd be willing to wager that it is only 'loosely' so. For every 1,000 stripper/boyfriend stories that happen in the real world, 999 of them don't have the happily ever after ending that this turkey of a story would have you believe. Every single cliche in this far too often made genre is right there in this movie too, as if there is a printed guide available to producers and directors who know a hot girl they want to put in a movie. And grant it the main character Monica is played by a genuine hottie (Ali Cobrin ). The rest of the entertainers look like they were dragged into a police lineup at 3 AM out of some slimeball dive. Ugh. What Mariel Hemingway is doing in this movie, I have no idea---I mean literally! It's as if she was actually making a different film across the hall, and wandered in aimlessly, accidentally getting into 2 awfully acted scenes. The dying father's acting is even worse. He looks like he's in a TV commercial for post-nasal drip. This isn't what real upscale strip clubs are like, it's what girlfriends, wives, and stripper's boyfriends are afraid they are like. But there IS one amazing insight that one learns from watching: "Never believe anything a stripper tells you." Now who would have ever thought that? ;-) See more 04/15/2015 This is an interesting film for many reasons but it's far from being a masterpiece in itself. I enjoyed the story because somehow the film was depicting in an interesting way the slow downfall into exotic dancing of a young woman who thought she could make quick money and get out of the game without problems. This kin of industry bring actually a whole range of issues, shady characters and easy money always comes with a price. The main actress was actually excellent because she could make us believe completely that by day she was a regular girl but by night she was this glamorous lap dancer. The film was well shot and some excellent work was done with the lighting and the dancing choreographies. It's not a film that one watched for the storyline of course but it blended pretty well and the film managed to rise above the lot. It turned out to be pretty decent and entertaining without feeling like a moralistic piece on the dangers of the job. See more 03/18/2015 Don't even bother. Avoid it like the plague. If u want to catch Carmen Electra, better grab a rerun of Baywatch instead. See more 01/31/2015 The most boring film about lap dances you will ever see. See more Read all reviews
