David K @RT61474040 May 18 The whole thing does seem a little contrived...okay, it seems a lot contrived...but the acting is top notch. I watched as part of TCM's Summer Under the Stars tribute to Robert Shaw who has a bit role as a trespassing photojournalist a few years before his career in film really hit stride. His career before that (on stage) was already off and running. But, Dirk Bogarde and Olivia de Havilland and a cast of great British character actors really do it justice.
