Hilarious combination of horror/comedy from start to finish! Great cast, and the kids are brilliant too. Cannot recommend highly enough!
Yes, this is a zombie movie with plenty of blood and guts. Yes, it also has a lot of swearing and risque humour. Yes, it may go a tad too far sometimes with both. However, you would be hard-pressed to find an undead-fest more stylish, entertaining and overall sweet than Little Monsters right now. And at the center of the attention, kindergarteners and brain-cravers, Lupita Nyong'o stuns with a fierce and outright hilarious performance.
Australian 'humour' at its very best.
Not as good or funny as I hoped, aside from Lupita Nyong'o performance, would have give 0 tbh
Bland, tasteless, and predictable
A wonderful film with two fantastic lead performances. A funny and exciting way the breath life into the now well worn zombie tropes
It's interesting and a fresh take on a Zombie genre.
Little Monsters is a 2019 comedy horror directed by Abe Forsythe. The film stars Lupita Nyong'o as Miss Caroline and Alexander England as Dave.
A lighthearted and at times feel-good zombie film; that will at least give you a couple good laughs. The cast was strong, the characters were steady, the makeup and costumes were notable, The comedy, for the most part, worked very well, and the story was engaging enough to keep my attention.
Overall I give it a
6/10 - strong film, would recommend
A simple story which will play on your emotions, make you laugh and make you connect with the adult characters and empathise with them in a deeper way than you would expect from a movie of this nature. Strange combination putting a group of young children and zombies together, but it works and at times is absolutely hilarious. Add to that a little side order of romance and plenty of adult humour. Maybe not a movie for those into heavy stories, but very entertaining for those looking to add a little fun to an evening.
I really think that this film could have been great. Kindergarten teacher try's to defend her class in a zombie apocalypse is such a fun idea. The the main character; in the first 20 minutes you are made to dislike him so much that it's impossible to root for him. I kept just waiting for him to be killed off and Miss Caroline (who should have been the protagonist) would continue being bad ass.
