Logan D @Greynomad38 Jan 19 A backcountry ranger (Georgina Campbell) finally gets the assignment she needs to resolve a trauma from her childhood. There are no clean answers to this tale of missing persons but it has a strong atmosphere and an appealing lead performance. Sutherland wrote The Wind 2019, which I really enjoyed (9/10) and debuts here as a director. I see a lot of potential in her confident direction. I would like to see a sequel in which characters were more aggressive pursuing the mystery. The chilling ending has stuck with me. All of the mysterious elements, shockers and creepy atmosphere seemed forced and disjointed. The story could be made up by an A.I. - or randomly put together by throwing dice. All in all this film was unsatisfying to watch and I found it hard to not just skip it at some point. See more Tyler K @Tyler_Kernelsemtex Aug 13 Nature is marvelous in the sunlight, but what happens when its pitch and you have only the visibility of a dying flashlight? This film provoked in us a very relatable fear of dark nature and the secrets that could be found within the unseen. The director beautifully mastered the concept of building suspense, as well as building character. Ultimately causing us to worry about a protagonist we grew to adore. Its rare in a horror film for us as viewers to root for the lead to survive, which I genuinely did. It slowly builds up adding layer upon layer until she releases the truth and figures out the parks dark secret. A very good independent horror film with great characters, acting and great scenery, well worth a look.
