A young girl goes to meet with her long term boyfriend who is employed preparing for the winter a seaside caravan community in rural England. The movie raises some doubts about whether he is cheating on her on the side, but it culminates with her forming an attraction to a lesbian girl who also lives there. We are given no information if the protagonist has a family or goes to school and why she suffers from nightmares and possibly also hallucinations. Her future is unclear. The director is capable and hopefully in the future she will give us more cogent stories. Despite the topic, there is limited explicit nudity and no need for the moral minority to panic. On Tubi. See more Gabriel G 03/03/2024 "Makeup" starts off with a promising and intriguing beginning, drawing the viewer in with its mysterious atmosphere and plot. However, as the movie progresses, it takes a horribly disappointing turn, veering off course and concluding with a completely unrelated and unsatisfying ending that seemed like it was trying to make some vague social commentary rather than bring the movie to a conclusion. We are taken down a suspenseful path and are in the middle of a riddle when the film takes a sharp left turn and turns into a romantic drama. Just didn't work.
