The actors gave it their all for a sick piece of film, no disparagement to them other than agreeing to work on this. See more Carson C @Weetziebat3 Oct 18 I watched this because I read that a lot of people found this deeply disturbing and even regretted having seen it. Not many horror movies scare me so that's why I wanted to try it out. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who has gone through violent assault or torture personally in their lives. The character Lucie is considered to have a gift: a higher pain tolerance than the normal human being that can be exploited by this underground group where they want to know what people see moments before death. They experiment on those like Lucie with the gift of being able to withstand unspeakable torture and once they've reached the final stage, they're killed in ways that saints were recorded as being martyred. I'm not saying it's not disturbing but if you've watched the Saw movies, this is not worse than those. It's also stealing a lot from Flatliners.
