Ironically, he succeeds in making quite a good film; a companionable reflection on artistic aspirations, compromise and on-set camaraderie, all -- true to The Asylum’s spirit -- in a solid 90 minutes.

Instead of mocking the efforts of schlock cinema it becomes a tribute to the joy and privilege it is to create a film with a team that recalls the pride and wonder in the climaxes of Ed Wood and Bowfinger.

You never have to watch Asylum film but you should definitely see what they are about, this documentary runs at a clip, engaging from end to end. A documentary for everyone who accidentally clicked on a film thats title was very close to hollywood blockbuster but turned out to be an absolute garbage copycat making you think, 'who makes this trash?'. Your answer is in this doco.

It was an enjoyable look at how The Asylum wants their process to appear to the public. I wasn't convinced we really saw the warts and all reality but it was a good watch. Anthony Frith comes out of this looking like a director who should stick to directing his parents safety videos and not a director I would want to see doing more movies even if they are Tubi level titles.

A joyous documentary that all film lovers should see. You walk away with admiration for director Anthony Frith going for his dream with a low budget "B" movie he knows will not be accepted by a mainstream public. This is a fun movie dealing truthfully with the filmmaking process. All levels of movies can succeed in different ways.
