Junior S. @RT39899143 9h Badly made western oddly combines old timey sentiments, for example drunken Indians in red face, with modern crudeness and even debauchery, for example both Heaton and Keith are foul mouthed and utterly profane, both appear naked multiple times, as do random women. The violence is glorified and the movie frequently features praise of drunkenness and wonton behavior. It even features an Indian rape scene. But the movie fails to establish a convincing villain, and gives him the most shallow of motives and refuses to explore it. The way in which the Indian villain is defeated is an old western movie cliche we’ve seen a thousand times before, even James Bond ripped it off in Thunderball. In short, this is a 1950s pre-Eastwood western in its orientation, but thoroughly R rated in its presentation. For that, it’s an odd and interesting, but badly made movie experience.
