Claudio C @Claudio666 4 days ago Moral Dilemma (12,769 – 17 Oct 2026) In New York, Police Lt. Tony Cochrane (William Gargan) is married with Martha (Jeff Donnell) with a son, Doc. He is having an affair with the socialite Jill Merrill (Janis Carter) and neglecting his family and the police work. One night, he is with Jill in a remote area and they witness a man killing a woman in her car. Tony does not shoot the killer afraid of the scandal and let him go. Soon an innocent man is arrested by the police and sent to the electric chair. Further, he finds that the killer is the bank manager Douglas Loring (Frank Wilcox). Now he has a moral dilemma: let an innocent die or go to jail, lose his job and his family? "Night Editor" (1946) is an interesting film noir, with a story of moral dilemma of a detective divided between the truth and the personal effect in his life. The amoral society, with men and women unfaithful, has good acting and conclusion. My vote is seven.
